Snowshoeing with the kids

This is a picture from our first snowshoeing trip together of the year.  I took the kids to Jolley's Ranch in Springville.  Eric was excited to try his showshoes that he received for Christmas.  The bear claws that Rubie has on were there in the yert and I knew that she would want to try them out.  Our total trip was just over a mile and it took us over an hour.  We had to play on the snow covered playground before we took to the snow shoe trail.  Rubie gave up on her snow shoes after a while.  She kept tripping over them.  She is so lite she just walks on top of the snow anyway.  

We went back a few weeks later this time with our friends Carly, Reid, and Link.  This time after playing on the play ground the kids decided they didn't need snow shoes at all.  That allowed them for freedom for exploring.  We went a little further this time and spent just a little longer.  With friends the kids seem to last longer or have more fun while working.
