Back at Scoffield

Just one week after returning from Girls' Camp, which was near Scoffield Reservoir, I went right back to Scoffield with the kids.  This time we went to cheer on lots of our friends participating in the Scoffield Triathlon.  We cheered on Carlee, Sarah, Steve Gray, Marlynn and Tess, and even others.  Oh, yes, and even Noah as he participated in the kids triathlon.  We arrived early on Friday afternoon to get settled in camp and to let the kids play on the beach.  They enjoyed throwing mud and watching some other kids catch crawdads with raw chicken meat.  We hung out with the Jarvis' and Carlee and then we and Carlee went to another camp ground a few miles down the road.  Carlee let us help break in her new tent.  It is huge and very comfortable.  Rubie and Eric loved exploring the vents and windows, the closet, and the door that opens like a real door.

In the morning we were at the race early enough to see Sarah and the other escapee's swim from their island back to part of the reservoir where we were all waiting.  We loved cheering our speedy Sarah on.  Then I ran into Aunt Jazzy and got to cheer on Tess and Mar.  We saw Carlee do a great job on her swim.  Then as people were on their bikes we just ran around entertaining the kids and trying to take some pictures of the athletes as they passed by us and transitioned to the run.  It was a long day but we sure enjoyed it.  In the middle of the day we loved watching Noah complete his race.  It is so inspiring watching all of our friends complete these hard physical obstacles.  We were able to see Sarah and Carlee do a few races this summer and it was sure great.  It really inspires me and my kids as well.  We are excited to watch what our friends will accomplish next season.
