Summerfest

Each year Orem City puts on Summerfest. It is a big production with lots going on. Our favorite parts are the rides set up in the city park and the parade. This year the weather wasn't that great. But I took Rubie and Eric on Saturday morning before the rain to get on some rides. Later that evening, after the rain, Scott came home from guard duty and we went to the parade. The kids enjoyed all the fun rides and the parade.

Making sure those motorcycles are functioning and ready to go.
I'm trying to start it.
Yeah! We love driving!
So happy to be in control of my own vehicle.
Oh my goodness! I could be out of control!
A boat ride with a bell to ring!
Is this a racing boat?
Hey Rubie--Ring the bell!
Hi Mom!
Mom? I heard your voice, where are you? Hi!
Vroom!
On a horse on a merry-go-round.
Giddyup!!
Hmm.
We have our tickets, we are ready to ride, let's get going!
Oh, a big, big berry.
This is supposed to be a pirate boat. Why am I stuck in this seat?
It just goes around and around in a circle. Is that what a pirate boat does?
It took a lot of coaxing and helping Eric to get to this point. He really wanted to go down this slide though. The worker finally had to help him over the rope bridges and get him to the top of the slide. Good job, buddy!
WEEEE!

This slide is much easier to climb up to.
Even Rubie can do this one.
Rubie didn't quite get the idea of riding on the potato sack.
Our first experience with cotton candy. Rubie isn't sure and has to lick it first to see if it's okay.
They both said it was good, but only took a few bites. We came home with most of it still left in the bag.
Eric is so pleased to be sitting in an authentic army vehicle.
Mom, could I drive it?
Hey, look, Daddy's here at the parade with us.
Daddy loves parades as much as we do.
Our beautiful little girl. She points out the princesses and loves the colorful floats.

Oh man. They crack me up on those rides! Looks like tons of fun! Sad we missed it!
PS: I got your message. No problem. I was not sure we were going anyway.

so it looks like you are having fun with your new camera. Have you taken the classes yet?
