Eric's 1st Bike

I got my very first bike! It arrived in the mail on Monday, 16 March. Daddy put it together. I got out my new helmet (which I have been wearing almost everyday for two weeks anyway) and helped Daddy with the assembly and then we took it outside.

It is a pedal-less bike. The idea is to help me get the balance down without those wobbly training wheels. Once I get it down I should be able to cruise quite fast. Mommy is super excited to be able to tow Rubie in the bike trailer and have me ride alongside her.

It is a little bit harder than I thought it would be, but I'll get it soon. Sometimes I forget to hold on. It's a good thing it is a sturdy little bike.

Grandma came to play

A few weeks ago Daddy had to go work in Las Vegas. Grandma Jeppson came to sleep over at our house and play with us all day. We love playing with Grandma Jeppson. We got to go to the mall and play on the dinosaur and the treehouse.

Eric playing with Logan

Carly, Logan's mom, likes to take pictures. She took some of us while we were playing at their house. Carly and mom are helping each other to get their training and exercise in by getting us kids together a few days a week to play with each other. It works out pretty well since Logan is just a bit older than I am and Savannah is a few months older than Rubie. Logan and I have become good buddies.

Logan loves to play outside with the football, soccer ball, and baseball just as much as I do. We were hiding from mom in this bush. But she found us.

Rubie has two teeth

Look! My two bottom teeth finally poked through on Tuesday morning (3/24/09). Both of them together. I'll be able to eat more solid foods shortly. Exciting! Except that mom thinks that means more vegetables. She tried to feed me some pureed cauliflower today. I showed her what I thought of that by spitting it all over her. She won't try that again.

Eric and I went to play at our friend's house Logan and Savannah's on Wednesday (3/25) so mom could go for a run. Carly, their mom, takes great pictures. Look how cute I am!

Eric's two year old pictures

I like to have pictures done of the kids on their birthday. This year I took Eric and Rubie to Kiddie Kandids. The photographer was great. She got some cute pictures of Eric without his orange, googly-eyed dog, or his McQueen car in the picture. The old fashioned toys helped a lot. The photographer tried to get Eric to hold Rubie up on his lap for a picture but he would not tolerate touching her or her laying on him. We had planned to do some pictures in another background and a few more shots, but I couldn't push him any longer. These pictures worked and so we went with these.

Rubie is 6 months old!

Rubie is now 6 months old. At her 6 month check-up with the Dr., she was 17 lbs and 28 inches long. She is such a happy and sweet little girl. She went through a few weeks of being sick. She caught a cold that the other 3 of us had. But her cold also gave her ear infections and pneumonia. It took of a few days of her suffering before I finally took her to the hospital, she is a trooper. She sure loves other kids and really enjoys when Noah and Max come over to play or we go over there. She likes to play with toys and when she can, loves to get her hands on Eric's most loved toys. She must think that if Eric loves these toys so much, they must be special. Eric is a typical brother with her. He gets some toys taken away each day for hitting her on the head with them, such as balls, buckets, and spoons. I also had a shock when Eric tried to feed Rubie chocolate pudding. I was in the kitchen and Eric was eating his pudding. Rubie was playing on the floor. Eric excitedly started telling me that something was all over Rubie's face and that I better come clean her. I thought perhaps she had spit up. When I looked, her face looked worse than his, totally covered in the chocolate pudding.

If I wasn't so paniked about Eric feeding her pudding I would have taken a picture. I don't think she really got any in her mouth. But it was all over her face. Sometimes Eric wants to share, it's just not always the right thing.

Things Eric loves to do

Eric is finding lots of things that he enjoys doing as a two year old. A few of those things are....

Building block towers until they are so tall they fall over.

Playing with his Tonka truck. All kinds of things can be driven around and dumped from this truck. He especially likes to have someone drive him around in it, like his Uncle Joe.

Eric has also found that he loves to "help" with the dishes. Let's hope that desire never fades. It usually involves pouring water from one container to another, mopping the floor and cabinets down afterwards, and a change of clothes.

Eating pudding or jello that Carolyn has made.

Jumping and playing in puddles.
