We had the most fun at the cub scout Pack Meeting this past Tuesday 11/15/16. It was the annual Pinewood Derby. I have recently been released from teaching Sunday School to the 13-14 year olds and have been called to be the Assistant Den Leader in the Bears Den, which is what Eric is in currently. Scott graciously agreed to Rubie and Sam's wishes for Pinewood Derby cars too. So he spent the week leading up to the Pinewood Derby helping the kids each build their cars. They were fantastic!! Eric's red Spiderman theme car took 2nd place again this year among the cub scouts. Rubie won a certificate for the wildest paint job. Her car was hot pink with yellow flames and blue windows. Her car was fast and during the opening racing she beat a few of the top racers. Sam's car was a metallic blue (BYU blue) but he decorated it well with stickers and won the certificate Best Use of Stickers. He stood right up there and accepted his certificate and Brother Griffin put the microphone down asking if he had anything to say. He loudly proclaimed, "Thanks!!" Then was off again to play with the cars with the other little kids. There was a great turn-out of all the families and a lot of work went into the cars. Many of them were very close for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Eric named his car Spider Man, Rubie called hers Hot Shot, and Sam called his Blueacuda (the car style was the Barracuda).
