Waiting for Snow

I bought Eric and Rubie new snow coats and snow pants.  Every day since their arrival, Rubie has been pining away for snow.  The forecast one day did call for snow in the mountains, but we continue to have a beautiful, sunny, warm fall.  The mornings are cool and so often Rubie will take her snow coat with the fleece liner to school.  She wants to build Sneezy and Olaf so badly.  I am sure that when the snow does start to come we will have plenty of it for awhile, but she is having a hard time waiting.  She even wants to have a winter party.  She wants us to make paper snowflakes, play in the snow, and be able to drink hot chocolate.

It has been a fairly normal week.  Scott has had drill, AT, all week.  He has been released in the evenings.  He leaves so early in the morning that it pretty much feels like he is out of town.  When he is home he takes Eric and Rubie to school and since I have been doing that, it feels like he is not here.  Friday evening we went to Grandpa Wilson's for a dinner of soup, salad, rolls, and pie.  Angela and her new boyfriend Joel were there, along with Dan and Brandee and their family, and Aunt Rae.  Russell will be heading back to Virginia this week to help Linda out with the trailor park.  Dellitt has not been as much of a help as they hoped, and Linda has gotten Shingles and has been quite sick with that.

Mom and Grandma Perry were waiting here when we got home from church.  Because of mom working it is hard for her to find a time to come and visit, but she wanted to visit Samuel for his birthday.  They stayed less than an hour.  Mom had some nice gifts for Sam of some new Tonka trucks and some outfits.  She is so good to all of the kids.

I have had struggles getting workouts in with Scott gone so much.  Also, I couldn't find babysitters yesterday.  I wanted to participate in the Turkey Tri and go out on a date with Scott, but no babysitters.  I did get a babysitter mid-day to get my hair done.  But I just kept feeling like all the YW were against me or something.  They did have a volleyball game, so maybe that was it.  We are headed over Dan and Brandee's again this afternoon.  For some reason Hayden did not get ordained last week like was the plan.  We won't stay long, but I want the kids to see and participate.  Friday the kids had off of school.  Eric has felt really abandoned in the neighborhood with the Platts leaving to England and so feels like often there are no friends to play with.  I set up a playdate each Monday with Camden Norton.  Friday we were able to have one of Rubie's classroom friends, Elyse, over.  She was also in her kindergarten class.  I am grateful the kids have such good friends they can associate with at school.
