Planes

We are sitting here watching Planes.  It is the Cars movie just with planes, no exaggeration, hardly any difference in the script.  Eric and Rubie got to see Planes 2 on Friday night with Grandma Jeppson.  It was her office summer annual family movie.  I didn't want to take Samuel because I knew he would not sit still in the theatre so I took Eric and Rubie to meet mom at her office.  She took them to the movie, out to McDonald's and then back to her house to spend the night.  Saturday was the Lloyd family reunion.  I rode my bike there with John Lloyd, his wife Michelle, and John's nephew Aaron Hopkinson (who is also on the Saints to Sinners team that I'll be on).  We rode on the Murdock Trail to Thanksgiving Point, over the point of the mountain.  We tried to find the Jordan River Trail but didn't pick it up until 123rd So.  We rode the Jordan River Trail winding and twisting all through Salt Lake City until we picked up the Legacy Parkway Trail in Davis County and rode that into Kaysville to Barnes Park.  It took us 4 hours and was a very nice ride.  Scott took care of Samuel and he went to mom and dad's before the reunion.  It was a nice get-together.  It was so hot in the afternoon that when we got home we went to the pool to cool off.

This felt like a busy week.  Scott's work had clients in town and some events and special meetings surrounding that.  Each day he had to go to work very early and didn't get home until late in the evening.  Tuesday significant others or guests were invited.  There was a catered dinner and a band for the party that was outside at the @Task building.  I liked meeting the people the Scott works with and putting faces with names of who I have been hearing about.

I also filled the week with getting lots of upgrades and maintenance on my bike and a hair appointment on Thursday.  The kids had playdates and babysitters and today everyone is wayyy toooo tired.  When we got Eric up for church today he was in a terrible mood and was refusing to eat or get ready for church.  It was very frustrating!  It was one of those times when neither Scott or I had any idea of what to do.  Nothing was motivating him.  I was ready to drag him to church in his pajamas.  Scott decided to give him what he wanted.  (Eric HATES to be home alone or even in any room by himself).  So we left to church.  We got in and settled onto a bench and then Scott disappeared.  He came back a few minutes later with Eric in church clothes and smiling.  Scott said Eric was on the porch in his church clothes.  Being a parent is so hard!
