Rubie's 1st Day of Preschool

The Wednesday after Labor Day on September 5th, Rubie started preschool at Stepping Stones Preschool.  Stepping Stones is held in a building that used to be an old church but is now used as a Center for the Arts, a reception center, and a preschool on the bottom level.  She is loving her classes.  She goes Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:50-11:20.  She has a music/theater class, art, snack, and the core class with Miss Valerie.  Maddy Stice from our ward/neighborhood is also in Rubie's class.  Anna picks the girls up each day to take them and since I also have to get Eric from school each day, I bring them home.  The school is just 2 minutes down the street from American Heritage.  The arrangement works out well and I am pleased with what she is learning.

In the same building, just up the steps from her preschool Rubie also participates in the Timpanogos School of Dance ballet class.  Her teacher is Miss Julie and right now they are preparing for their performance in January.  She loves her little class and loves to show us what she is learning.  Rubie dances and performs all throughout the house and where-ever we might be.  Her dance class, and now karate give her new material to use all the time.

From Purple to Blue stripe

Eric's last day at the Orem Bobby Lawrence Karate with Mr. Mickey's class was his promotion from Purple Stripe to Blue Stripe.  While we miss Mr. Mickey we do really like Mr. Dallas's class as well.  We moved Eric to the American Fork Bobby Lawrence Karate with Mr. Mickey's brother, Mr. Dallas.  He is also an excellent Master instructor and has great assistants as well.  The A.F. location is much closer to us in Pleasant Grove and so I decided against continuing to drive to Orem a few times a week for karate.  We do miss our class in Orem but are making new friends at the A.F. location.  Also, Rubie has joined the class now.

Eric's First Day of School

On Monday 27, August 2012 Eric started school as a kindergartener at American Heritage School.  He is in Mrs. Hobbs a.m. kindergarten class.  Scott takes Eric to school each day.  We are loving American Heritage School.  What a great opportunity Eric has to be a student there.  He is making lots of friends and learning so much.  I am so proud of the kind of student he is.  We are required to give the school volunteer time and so I have been to Eric's classroom a few times and have seen how he is in the classroom.  He is obedient and does his work well.  He is social but is also learning to be a good leader.  Eric is a good example to other students and to his sister.  We spend time each day doing his homework and reading.  He is good to discipline himself to do his work even though he would much rather spend time playing with friends.

There was a meet the teacher day before school started.  We received an assignment to make this little person to help Mrs. Hobbs and the other students lean about Eric.  He has a picture of his family on there, a picture in his karate uniform, a teddy bear, a marker, nun chucks, and his face painted as spider man.

Isaac Baby Blessing

In August, Andy and Beth had their baby Isaac blessed.  Grandma Wilson was also able to be here for a few weeks.  She has been in Virginia since before last Thanksgiving.  It was nice to see her and get together with all the family.

Rubie's Parade Debut

When Rubie heard that her dance class had the opportunity to participate in a parade she wanted to make sure that she was part of it.  At the end of her dance performance Miss Christina announced that any of the girls participating in dance classes throughout the summer would be able to be a part a parade.  We missed the first parade, the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days, due to Hadley and Spencer's temple sealing.  And even though we missed out on some of the Wilson Family Reunion we made a point to get Rubie to the Lindon Days parade so she could ride Miss Christina's float advertising her dance studio.  She was excited and a little nervous.  Even though it was one of the shortest parades we have ever seen, about 45 minutes, to Rubie is was hot and FOREVER.
