When Rubie saw Eric giving his talk in primary she wanted soooo bad to also give a talk. It just so happened that very Sunday her class was assigned the prayer, scripture and talks for the next Sunday. Rubie teacher's, the Griffin's, apologetically handed me the assignment saying she was insistent. Of course I didn't mind preparing two talks back to back. It's great for the kids. Rubie did a great job. She was so excited. She was taken aback a bit when she first heard her voice in the microphone but she kept going. She also told us that she didn't like everyone staring at her. I told her that when you stand up to speak in front of everyone they all want to hear what you have to say and so they will look at you. She very grown up like said I don't mind if they look at me, I just don't want them staring. Hmm, she understands the distinction. But she also had pictures to go along with her talk and so of course everyone was looking at the pictures as well. I helped her give her talk in primary. Then that evening when we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Jeppson she wanted to give her talk all on her own. She pretty much did. She is a smart little girl. She is much smarter than she likes to let on.
Hear is Rubie's talk that she gave. For each of the 10 points we had pictures that we printed and colored to go along with each point. Number 10 was a picture of Rubie with a big smile.
I am learning to choose the right when I live gospel principles like:
1. Participating in family prayer every morning.
2. Saying prayers at meal times and at bed time.
3. Keeping my room clean.
4. Helping my mom with cleaning the house.
5. Sharing with my brother.
6. Being nice to my friends.
7. Obeying my teachers at dance and at primary.
8. Taking care of my body by choosing good foods.
9. Wearing modest clothing.
10. Choosing to have a happy attitude.
When I choose the right by living gospel principles I am happy and I know Heavenly Father is happy with me too.
I am so proud of Rubie for wanting to give a talk and wanting to share her testimony.
Scott was gone for 16 days at the end of March beginning of April for Warrior Leadership Training. The training was held at Camp Williams but he did not get to come home during that time. He was gone over the Easter Holiday. Grandma Jeppson came to visit and had a sleepover with us. She brought the kids some cute gifts. We had an Easter Egg Hunt. Did crafts. And colored and decorated Easter eggs. Grandma put money in some eggs and each kid found $10 in quarters and $1 bills. Before Grandma left that Saturday afternoon we went to Target and the kids got to pick a toy with their Easter egg money, but not before we set aside our tithing.
Easter morning the Easter bunny brought the kids some nice new Easter clothes and a few gifts.
I was assigned to give a talk in primary yesterday, June 10, 2012. I stood right up to the microphone and speak clearly and well so that everyone could understand me. I even smiled and was so happy to be giving a talk. The talk was to be on a time I chose the right. My mom talked to me about a time when I chose the right that we could share and what it means to share the right. She helped me write my talk and helped me give it. She was so proud of me. I was really proud of me too. This is the talk I gave:

We have a saying in our house. If I obey I will be happy all day. I have been learning that Choosing the Right also means I choose my attitude. I am learning that I don’t always get to choose the things I want to do. Sometimes I must obey our parents, or teachers. Sometimes I am not happy about what they ask me to do. But the right choice is to have a happy attitude and do the task without complaining or whining.
This year in primary as I have been learning the song “Nephi’s Courage” and as my family has read about Nephi in the Book of Mormon I have learned that Nephi always chose the right by not murmuring. His brothers Laman and Lemuel did not choose the right when they would murmur.
Last week I wanted my mom to push me on the swings of our play-set. We had just come home from our Grandma’s house and there was a bunch of things to unload from the car. Instead of complaining that mom wouldn’t push me right then and wanted to unload the car, I cheerfully offered to unload the car for her. As I started to unload the car my younger sister, Rubie also began helping. The job got done quickly and then my mom was able to spend time with us outside pushing us on the swings.
When I happily obey and make a right choice, I feel the spirit. That makes me feel good and feel happy. I know that Heavenly Father is happy with me when I make the right choice by not murmuring.
Just about a week after going to the Dino Museum with some of the Jeppson's we were there again on April 5th with the Warners. It was the Warner's spring break and we were able to get together for a few hours. We were going to go to Farm Country and check out the new baby animals. But it was so cold and windy that it was miserable. So we headed to the museum for more exploration.
Jessica came into town to visit in mid-March. On the Saturday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day) that she was here there was a baby shower for our cousin Lacey. Lacey has adopted her third baby, a little girl. It was fun to be able to go to the shower and have Jessica there.
After the baby shower the ladies met up with Joe and Dad (and Scott a bit later) at the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. We enjoyed spending time with each other as we explored the museum and then had lunch at the Water Tower Cafe.
We spend a lot of time with the Tulett's. Usually 2 days per week. One day at their house and one day at our house. Dad's aren't usually involved but every once in a while a Dad will come home while one mom is still out exercising and doing what she needs to. This particular night I had the Tulett kids a little later than usual and fed them dinner. Then Scott came home and kept them entertained with some stories.
