Mom asked me where I had more pictures of the grandkids and I said, I haven't seen em so I don't have any. But I know who does. And I was right. Even so, we were disappointed at all the ones that didn't show up! Because we cannot get enough of you all.
Mom says she misses you. Rubie's getting so tall! And then when she looks at Sam she's worried he'll be taller than Grandma before she gets home! He reminds her of Scott, who, she says, was never small. He'll probably be the tallest and big like his dad.
A tenant was telling Grandma that 'all 7 year old boys do bad things' and she told her, "no, not all 7 year old boys do. I've got a grandson who, when he was 7 did not do those sorts of things!" Though, Grandma did allow that her grandson is a very special young man, she still encouraged the lady to hold her son to a higher standard. She is so proud of the intelligent, kind, righteous person Eric is.
We both loved seeing what a good big sister Rubie is to Sam. And that he seems to want to learn and be able and allowed to do everything Rubie and Eric can do. Sam looks like one who's curious about everything. Grandma is having flashbacks of a boy just like him putting his fingers in this nook or cranny or that and.... she would like to know HOW he got up on the countertop and opened the childproof drawer and put his finger between the blades of a double bladed knife! How? she asks? I think, though, I detect some satisfaction that Scott gets to answer the questions she wasn't able to from his own experience. Though, I might remind her, that you, Jennifer, get to benefit from all the sowing that's been done by those two. She is much less worried about Eric and Rubie, or at least, about them losing any limbs. They certainly are adventurous, but in a, I'd-like to do-that-too were-I-not-72 kind of way.
We so look forward to examining just how much they've grown and learned. And getting in on all those hugs!!
We love you all. Grandma & Aunt Dellitt (Grandpa is fast asleep, I'll have to show him these when he's awake!)
