Grandma Bishop

Last week our dear friend and neighbor passed away suddenly. We knew her as Grandma Bishop. My kids loved to play in her yard and play with her dogs. We have spent lots of time in their yard and have enjoyed many visits with Nancy and Lloyd, Grandpa Bishop. They always shared their vegetables from the garden. They loved Eric and Rubie and always had something for them. There is an empty spot now in our lives where Grandma Bishop was. We look forward to a reunion someday.

Nancy Farley Bishop

1938 ~ 2010

Monday February 1, 2010 our beloved wife, mom, grandma and great grandma passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family.

She was born October 22, 1938 to Blaine and Virginia Farley in Provo, UT. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and attended Brigham Young Academy and University of Utah.

Occasionally she attended Orem High with her sons. She married Lloyd Bishop on December 9, 1960 in Salt Lake City, UT. They had 5 boys and 1 "spoiled" daughter, and lived most of their lives in Orem, UT. She spent many years working various jobs, but her favorite was the Utah State Training School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was always making sure family got together, whether it was a summer party, Christmas party, neighborhood 50's party or just a BBQ she made sure it happened. Her lifelong goal was to give to everyone, family, friend, neighbor or complete stranger. Whether it was vegetables from her garden, clothes or something she found on sale that you might need, she was sure to take care of everyone.

She is survived by her husband, her children James (Sherry), Rick (Shalin), Robert (Camille), Terry (Beth), Lloyd Jr. (Brandi) Bishop, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Crystal, 32 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and hundreds of adopted kids and grandkids everyone called her mom or grandma.

Preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 1 great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 6, 2010 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel 670 East 800 North in Orem. A viewing will be held Friday Evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 South State in Orem and from 9:45 am to 10:45 am before the services at the ward chapel. Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please send a Teddy Bear for the Ambulance service, donate a can of food to the food bank or give to your favorite charity. Nancy was always giving.
